Semi Permanent Brows

Beautiful, natural-looking brows you’ll wake up with every day

Brows are where Vixen Brows began, and they’re still my passion. Whether your brows are sparse, over-plucked, uneven or have faded with age, semi-permanent brows can give you the shape and fullness you’ve always wanted, without the daily pencil.

My motto when it comes to your brows: they’re your eyebrows, you have to look at them every day, so ultimately, I’m here to create the brows you’ve always wanted!

Which brows are right for me?

I offer three techniques. At your consultation, I’ll look at your skin type, natural brows and the look you love, and recommend the best one for you.

Microblading

Best for: a natural, hair-like look

Microblading uses a fine hand tool to create delicate hair strokes that blend in with your natural brows. It’s perfect if you want to fill gaps, add shape and get that “my brows, just better” look.

  • Very natural, fluffy finish
  • Best for normal to dry skin
  • Lasts around 12–18 months

Microblading & Shading (Combo Brows)

Best for: natural front, defined tails

Combo brows give you the best of both worlds: soft hair strokes at the front of the brow for a natural look, blended into light shading through the middle and tails for extra definition and fullness.

  • Natural yet defined
  • Suits most skin types, including combination skin
  • Lasts around 1–2 years

Powder / Ombré Brows

Best for: a soft, filled-in, makeup look

Powder brows use a machine to build up tiny dots of pigment, creating a soft, powdery effect, just like you’ve filled your brows in with powder. They’re lighter at the front and gradually darker towards the tail for a beautiful ombré finish.

  • Soft, polished, “brows done” look
  • Ideal for oily or mature skin, where hair strokes can blur
  • Lasts around 1.5–3 years

What to expect

Prior –You will be sent pre-procedure information to read carefully. You may request a patch test 7 days or more before treatment. You may send photos of brows you like, send me photos of your own brows, or you can come in for a pre-procedure consultation.

Your appointment – Your appointment takes around 90 minutes. We’ll spend time numbing, then designing and mapping your perfect brow shape, choosing your colour, and making sure you love the shape before we start. Numbing cream is used to keep you as comfortable as possible and I reapply this throughout the treatment. 90% of clients say “I could have fallen asleep” during treatment. Comfort is really important to me, and most clients are surprised by how relaxing it is!

Healing – Your brows will look darker and bolder for the first week or so. They’ll then flake and may look patchy or lighter for a while, which is all completely normal. Your final colour settles after around 4–6 weeks.

Top-up – A top-up session 4–6 weeks after your first appointment is an essential part of the treatment. It lets me perfect the shape and colour and fill any areas that didn’t hold. After your top-up, brows typically last 1–3 years depending on your technique, skin type and lifestyle.

Already have semi-permanent brows

If you’ve had semi-permanent brows done elsewhere and need a colour boost, but don’t want to return to your original practitioner, or they no longer offer it, I’d love to help. You would need to start as a new client, as often, topping up someone else’s work is harder than starting from scratch. But in future years, you will be able to take advantage of my top up prices.

Please note: if you have pigment left from previous work, please message me on Facebook or Instagram with clear photos of your brows before booking, so I can check I can work with them.

Is semi-permanent brows right for me?

Semi-permanent brows aren’t suitable if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Are having chemotherapy or other cancer treatment
  • Have taken Roaccutane in the last 6–12 months
  • Have a skin condition such as eczema or psoriasis on or around the brows
  • Tend to form keloid or raised scars
  • Are under 18

Please let me know before booking if you:

  • Take blood-thinning medication
  • Have diabetes or an autoimmune condition
  • Have had anti-wrinkle injections in the forehead in the last 2 weeks
  • Have any other medical conditions or take regular medication

Having one of these doesn’t always mean you can’t have treatment. Sometimes it just means waiting, or getting the go-ahead from your GP first.

  • Time: 1 hour 30 minutes (1st appointment), 1 hour (top up appointment)
  • Pain: 3/10
  • Downtime: Healing takes up to 7 days but no need to take time off work.
  • Do’s/Dont’s: DO be over 18 (its a form of tattoo, so by law you must be 18), DO allow 7-14 days for healing process after each appointment. DON’T have if pregnant or breastfeeding, DON’T use any sunbed, sauna, jacuzzi or lay in the sun after treatment (wait until healed), DON’T worry about the pain – my numbing cream is strong, read my reviews for reassurance.
  • Longevity: 1 – 3 years

FAQ's

Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is used throughout, so most clients feel very little. Many describe it as a light scratching sensation, and some even nod off!

How long does it last?

After your top-up, brows typically last 1–3 years. Microblading tends to fade sooner, while powder brows last longest. Oily skin, sun exposure and some skincare products can fade pigment faster.

Will it look natural?

Yes! Every brow is designed around your face shape, natural brows and colouring. We’ll agree on the shape together before I start, so there are no surprises.

Does it hurt?

At Vixen Brows, Vicky prides herself on keeping clients extremely comfortable throughout the procedure. The numbing cream is strong and is reapplied many times throughout the procedure to assure you are numb throughout the process. Some clients have been known to fall asleep whilst having treatment as its that pain-free and “relaxing”.

Feel free to read the REVIEWS section to find out what other people have to say!

What if I don't like the shape?

You’ll see and approve your brow shape before any pigment is applied. Nothing starts until you’re 100% happy.

Why do I need a top-up?

Everyone’s skin heals differently, and some pigment is always lost during healing. The top-up lets me perfect your brows and makes sure they last as long as possible.

What aftercare will I need?

You’ll need to keep your brows dry and avoid makeup, swimming, saunas, heavy sweating and sun exposure on the area for around 10–14 days while they heal. You’ll be given full written aftercare to take home.

Can I have it done before a holiday or event?

Book at least 4–6 weeks before any big event, holiday or photos. Your brows need time to heal, and you’ll need your top-up too.

Will my brows change colour over time?

All semi-permanent pigment gradually fades as your skin renews itself. Regular colour boosts keep your brows looking fresh and in the right shade.
