Microblading? Microblading & Shading? Powder/Ombre brows?

Firstly, your skin type will be the factor that decides the type of brows you can choose from. If you have large pores, oily skin, tough/thick skin, then you will have to have powder ombre brows to achieve the best long lasting results. Microblading ‘hairstrokes’ is not suitable for people with oily skin. 

If your skin type is dry or normal. Then you have more selection of what brow type to choose from and you can discuss this on the appointment with Vicky in the consultation process.

Size, shape and colour is individual to the person and will be discussed on consultation.

Everyone’s skin is different! Lots of factors affect the longevity of your brows. From hormones, to sun exposure, to lifestyle, to make-up routine and much more. Don’t forget every day your eyebrows are exposed to many elements and it is natural that they will fade over time. So below is the average longevity of brows for each brow type.

With every brow type, its usually recommended to have a top up every 12 months to keep them looking their best, but some may stretch it even longer. 

Microblading – 6 months – 1.5 years

Microblading & Shading – 1 – 2 years 

Powder Brows – 1.5 – 3 years 

At this time the brows may not be completely gone, but they will probably need a top up or colour boost to look their best. 

At Vixen Brows, Vicky prides herself on keeping clients extremely comfortable throughout the procedure. The numbing cream is strong and is reapplied many times throughout the procedure to assure you are numb throughout the process. Some clients have been known to fall asleep whilst having treatment as its that pain-free and “relaxing”.

This is everyone’s biggest fear. And Vicky totally appreciates what a big deal it is to be trusted to transform somebody’s brows. After all, they are on your face! However, your in safe hands. Vicky has transformed hundreds of eyebrows. There is no brow type that Vicky hasn’t worked with, and it really comes down to experience when it comes to building this type of skill. 

Immediately after the appointment, you can expect eyebrows to be 40-60% darker than the end result (this is before they are healed). Vicky’s general rule of thumb is:

If you think the colour is ‘too dark’ upon leaving the appointment you will like them when they are healed. If you think the colour is perfect upon leaving the appointment, you will find them too light when they are healed. 

It’s important to remember that you will be coming back for a 4-6 week top up after your initial procedure, this is where you can discuss with Vicky any minor alterations to colour, thickness etc. 

Always remember this form of cosmetic procedure is SEMI-PERMANENT. And although nobody has ever needed to, removal is always an option once fully healed (4-6 weeks). 

It is very common Vicky works with clients who have had microblading or PMU brows elsewhere, but doesn’t want to return to that practitioner or, their original practitioner doesn’t do it any more. 

Every person must start as a ‘new client’. And can take advantage of Vixen Brows top up prices when due your annual top up. 

Going over other peoples work is always harder and more of a challenge than working with virgin skin. 

It is important that if you have pigment left from previous work done, to contact Vixen Brows by facebook message (insert link) or instagram and send photos so Vicky can check she can work with your brows. Some people will have to have removal first (if shape is wrong or colour is too heavy) OR others that has quite faded and the shape is equal, then usually microblading and shading or powder brows is recommended.
