Skin Boosters

Skin boosters are injectable treatments that work beneath the surface to improve the quality of your skin. Unlike dermal fillers, they don’t change the shape of your face or add volume. Instead, they spread through the skin to hydrate, refresh and strengthen it, giving you that “good skin day” glow every day.

I’ve carefully chosen six skin boosters that I trust and love the results of. They’re listed below from lightest amount of Hyaluronic Acid to most intensive. At your consultation, I’ll look at your skin and recommend the one that’s right for you.

1. Collagenex

Best for: glow, skin repair and anyone wanting a vegan option

Collagenex is a next-generation skin booster that combines three powerful ingredients in one treatment:

  • Lab-made, human-identical collagen (types I & III) to support firmness and elasticity
  • Hyaluronic acid for instant hydration and smoothness
  • Polynucleotides to support skin repair and regeneration

It’s 100% animal-free and vegan-friendly, so it’s suitable for clients who can’t have fish-derived polynucleotides. It’s ideal for dull, tired or stressed skin, and a lovely first skin booster if you’re new to injectables.

Course: 3 sessions, 2 weeks apart, then maintenance every 4–6 months

2. Sunekos 200

Best for: early signs of ageing, crepey skin and tired eyes

Sunekos 200 is an award-winning Italian treatment that combines hyaluronic acid with a patented blend of amino acids, the natural building blocks of collagen and elastin. Rather than just hydrating, it gives your skin the raw materials it needs to rebuild itself, helping to restore firmness, bounce and elasticity from within.

It’s ideal for the first signs of ageing, crepey skin, fine lines and dark circles, and can be used on the face, under the eyes, the neck, décolletage and hands.

Course: 3 sessions, 2 weeks apart, then maintenance every 6 months

3. Sosum Soft

Best for: fine lines, dehydration and longer-lasting hydration

Sosum Soft is a premium hyaluronic acid skin booster made with cross-linked HA. That means the hyaluronic acid is stabilised so it stays in your skin for longer, giving you longer-lasting hydration and smoothing.

It works to plump and hydrate the skin, soften fine lines, improve elasticity and even out skin tone. It’s suitable for the face, neck and backs of the hands.

Course: 2–3 sessions, 2 weeks apart, then maintenance every 3–6 months

4. Revitrane HA20

Best for: deep hydration of the face, neck and hands

Revitrane HA20 is a high-strength hyaluronic acid skin booster with 20mg of HA in every ml. It gives your skin a deep, long-lasting burst of hydration and encourages your skin to produce more collagen and elastin over time.

It’s brilliant for dry, dehydrated or dull skin, crepey necks and ageing hands, leaving skin smoother, plumper and glowing.

Course:  usually 2-3 sessions, then maintenance session every 6–12 months

5. REVS Pro 32

Best for: loss of firmness, early sagging and mature skin

REVS Pro 32 is a high-strength hyaluronic acid skin booster containing HA in two forms:

  • High molecular weight HA to support firmness and structure
  • Low molecular weight HA to deeply hydrate

Together, they work to remodel the skin, restore firmness and improve skin laxity, which is ideal if you’ve noticed your skin becoming looser, thinner or less bouncy. It’s usually placed using a 5-point technique on each side of the face, which means fewer injections.

Course: 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart, maintenance session every 6-12 months

6. Plenhyage XL Polynucleotides

Best for: skin repair, acne scarring, sun damage and mature skin

Plenhyage XL is my most intensive skin treatment. It’s a polynucleotide treatment made from highly purified salmon DNA, which works at a cellular level to repair and regenerate your skin. It switches on the cells that produce collagen and elastin, helping skin become thicker, stronger, firmer and more hydrated over time.

It’s brilliant for acne scarring, sun-damaged skin, uneven texture, thinning skin and a crepey neck. It comes in two strengths, so I can tailor your treatment to your skin.

Course: 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. Results build from around 3 weeks and last 6–9 months.
Please note: not suitable if you have a fish allergy.

FAQ's

What's the difference between a skin booster and a filler?

Dermal fillers add volume and shape to specific areas, like the lips or cheeks. Skin boosters don’t change the shape of your face. Instead, they spread through the skin to improve its quality, so it’s more hydrated, smoother, firmer and glowing. Think of it as improving the canvas rather than changing the picture.

Will I look "done"?

No. Skin boosters are one of the most natural treatments available. People will notice you look fresher and well-rested, but they won’t be able to tell what you’ve had done.

Does it hurt?

Skin boosters are given with very fine needles. Most clients feel a slight scratch or sting, and some areas, like around the mouth, can be a little more sensitive. Numbing cream can be applied first to keep you comfortable.

Is there any downtime?

Very little. You may have small raised bumps at the injection points, which usually settle within 24–48 hours. Mild redness, swelling or bruising is also possible. Most clients go straight back to their normal day, but if you have a big event coming up, book at least 2 weeks before.

When will I see results?

Many clients notice their skin looks more hydrated within the first week. The best results build gradually over the course of treatment as your skin produces new collagen and elastin.

How long do results last?

It depends on the treatment, your age, skin type and lifestyle, but most results last around 6–9 months. Regular maintenance sessions keep your skin looking its best.

Why do I need a course of treatments?

Skin boosters work by encouraging your skin to repair and regenerate itself, and that takes time. A course gives your skin repeated stimulation, which gives better, longer-lasting results than a single session.

What age should I start skin boosters?

There’s no “right” age. Many clients in their late 20s and 30s use skin boosters to keep their skin healthy and hydrated and to prevent early signs of ageing, while clients in their 40s, 50s and beyond use them to restore firmness and improve skin quality. All clients must be 18 or over.

Can men have skin boosters?

Absolutely. Skin boosters are great for anyone who wants healthier, fresher-looking skin.

Which areas can be treated?

The face is most popular, but skin boosters can also treat the neck, décolletage and backs of the hands, which are areas that often show ageing but get forgotten.

Can I have skin boosters with other treatments?

Yes. Skin boosters work beautifully alongside anti-wrinkle treatment, HIFU, microneedling and fillers. The timing between treatments matters, so we’ll plan your treatments together at your consultation.

Can I wear make-up afterwards?

It’s best to avoid make-up for 24 hours after treatment to reduce the risk of infection. You’ll be given full aftercare advice before you leave.

Who isn't suitable for skin boosters?

Skin boosters aren’t suitable if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, have an infection, cold sore or active acne in the treatment area, or are allergic to any of the ingredients. Polynucleotide treatments (Plenhyage XL) aren’t suitable if you have a fish allergy, and Collagenex is a great alternative. If you have an autoimmune condition, take blood thinners or have any other medical conditions, please let me know, and we’ll check everything at your consultation.

I'm not sure which one to choose. What should I do?

That’s completely normal! Just book a consultation, and I’ll look at your skin, talk through your goals and budget, and recommend the best option for you.
