Vicky's Vixen Brows Story so far....
Hi, I’m Victoria / Vicky,
I am the sole owner of Vixenbrows brows and aesthetics and I cover the Swansea, Cardiff and Windsor areas by myself. I have been in the beauty industry since I was 18 years old. My first business was mobile spray tanning and it gave me a passion for making women look and feel better about themselves. In my 20’s I took a break from beauty and completed a degree in Counselling & Psychology where I have also coached people over the years and online through the pandemic when I had to close Vixen Brows.
But my love for my clients and the beauty industry took over again when things went back to ‘normal’. Although Microblading/Semi-permanent brows is the roots of my business, I absolutely love helping women turn back the clock and look/feel more youthful and I am committed to continuing to find the latest and greatest inventions in the beauty, brows and aesthetics industry to help clients feel amazing forever I started my own Semi-permanent brows and aesthetics journey in my early 20’s and having been a client on the receiving end, I feel this has helped shape my standards as a practitioner, but also I appreciate the importance of numbing cream!
I am from the over-plucking, thin eyebrows era, pencilling in eyebrows for many years and when I finally took the plunge to have microblading it changed my life forever.

2018
Vixen Brows was born
I am originally from Swansea, but I had just moved to Cardiff for a ‘change of scene’. After helping a friend of a friend in a salon doing eyebrow waxing and tinting, every other client was asking ‘I want eyebrows like yours’ and it prompted me to invest in a course in Microblading.
Although living in Cardiff, all my friends, former beauty clients and family were in Swansea, so they were my best ‘guinea pigs’, so I started by renting a room in a salon in Swansea, and then another in Cardiff and built a strong loyal client base in both.
2020
The world got put on hold
I had huge plans for Vixenbrows brows and aesthetics in 2020, then when lockdown happened I was forced to close business. I did some online courses through this time to do with infection control, pigmentation colours for brows and more! In August 2020 we were allowed back to work, I had a huge waiting list of clients that had patiently waited through lockdown for their brand new brows and top ups, this kept me busy for many months!
2022
On the move again
This is the year I moved back to Swansea to live with my (now) husband. The salon I had rented a room at for 5 years closed down, so it forced me to look at alternative options. As I was still travelling back to Cardiff and London for clients, I did not want a salon premises by myself and I was also happy not to have others working for me. So my home studio salon was born! After months of getting planning permission from the council and jumping many hurdles, I converted my garage (my husbands man cave) into my beautiful studio which allowed me to work more flexibly for clients. This allowed me to create a more relaxed environment and meant my clients had no issues with finding/paying for parking which was an issue in the previous salons.
To take the antiaging treatments even further, I trained in skin boosters this year. Aiming to help clients take their anti-ageing to the next level. I discovered the magic of Radiofrequency Microneedling whilst in London, I loved this treatment myself for jowl tightening and skin resurfacing and I was keen to train in it when I could invest in the expensive machine.
2024
On the move again
I was working reduced days / hours due to having my daughter in 2023. This year I put into practice my HIFU qualification after investing in the HIFU machine. This year was all about practicing my skills and the 4 different handles HIFU comes with. Whilst phasing myself back to work around my baby and also planning a wedding and getting married!
Not much spare time to do any additional courses this year!
2019
Branching out
I expanded my skills within Microblading and invested in two other courses; manual powder brows and gained my Level 4 qualification in Semi-Permanent make-up. I also did a course in Dermaplaning facials. This year I moved to London. I had friends with salon’s in and around London that asked me to do clinics in their salons for eyebrows, so I just decided to move there and expand my business. I was travelling back to Swansea/Cardiff every 4 weeks to see clients for a week at a time.
This year my interest in Aesthetics began! I had a needle phobia for years and it stopped me getting any dermal filler or other needle treatments. But thanks to being in London, the industry is a bit more ahead of the game, and I trained in London for a No-Needle Lip filler and No-Needle Fat Dissolve course.
2021
My injectable aesthetic journey began
I am a true believer in believing in your treatments! Every treatment I train in, I have had it myself. This is so I know the pain level, the aftercare, the downtime and believe in the results. First of all that started with developing my brow skills further and I trained in machine PMU (permanent makeup) to create powder/ombre brows.
After lockdown, every other client was asking for Botox or filler, and I had nobody I could truly recommend. Because I was level 4 in Semi-permanent makeup for almost 4 years, this was my gateway to the aesthetics qualifications. Within his year I trained in Dermal filler (lips and lines), Botox and Lidocaine infusion (dental block), plus I did an intensive complications course with a Doctor.
2023
Levelling up
This year I trained in Advanced Toxin (lower face botox) which targets bunny lines (scruchy nose), gummy smile, lip flip and more! I also advanced from no-needle fat dissolve to injectable fat dissolve to give clients even better results.
I completed my microneedling qualification (using a pen device rather than machine) which allowed me to do mesotherapy skin treatments for clients. Then 1 month before I was due to give birth, I trained in HIFU (High Intesnity Focused Ultrasound) which was a 2 day course in the North of the UK.
2025
The now and the future
Polynucleotides started to take the aesthetics industry by storm. This treatment is similar to skin boosters but using the advances in science. The now and the future:
I aim to further my qualifications by 2 courses/treatments every year! This year I will be advancing my Lip Filler qualification by doing a Russian Lips masterclass.
I am moving house – so moving my salon – to Birchgrove, Swansea.
I still do 2 clinics in Cardiff per year (reduced now as clients tend to travel to Swansea for me) and I visit Windsor and accommodate all my Berkshire/London client base every 2-3 months!
No doubt I will be investing in more machinery over the next 2 months, listening to clients to hear what they would like and keeping a close eye on the ever-changing industry to bring the latest and greatest treatments to my clients to give them the best results.
